About the Presenter:
As Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Radiation Oncology at UCSD, my research focus is optimization for intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) and volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT). I am also involved in the implementation of optimization algorithms on a GPU platform for online adaptive radiation therapy.
During my Ph.D. study, I built up solid theoretical knowledge to model and solve linear, nonlinear, integer, and stochastic optimization problems. I have been intimately involved in several aspects of optimization research in supply chain optimization. In addition, I was part of multidisciplinary research focused on mitigating of large scale influenza pandemic outbreaks using a petascale simulation based optimization framework for dynamic allocation of federal resources.
