Poster # 2476 Reduction of Daily Imaging Dose Associated with Prostate Planar kV IGRT

Presenter: Alec Block, BA, BS

About the Presenter:
I am a fourth year medical student at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine who is applying this year for residency in radiation oncology. I am intrigued by the role of physics in medical research and therapy. The experiences I have gained while researching prostate motion, autosegmentation in cervical cancer, imaging dose reduction, predicting outcomes in esophageal cancer, and radiation pneumonitis have been some of my most valuable experiences in medical school. The fast-paced, ever-evolving research paired with a highly clinical field of medicine that relies on patient history, physical exam, and understanding of a disease process in three dimensions, will keep me interested and excited to practice radiation oncology for my entire career. In my free time, I enjoy American history, cycling, and cheering for Chicago sports teams.
